Computer terrorists threaten economy electronically.

A secretive group known only as "The Organization" taps into the Chicago Switch, a major data center for the transfer of money electronically. They first siphon off money, then completely disrupt the system. Federal agents know of the tampering, but not the true purpose. They enlist a noted computer security theorist to help them solve the case. Other subplots include: the sating of The Organization's quirky programmer's sexual appetites, the theorist's crises of being sequestered from his wife, who thinks him dead, and the manipulations of a former sex surrogate who is the target of the programmer's lust
