One-of-a-Kind Fiction

This is an amazing work. Fans of Gary Clemenceau and AcmeVaporware already know him to be the King of Parody (The Onion's got nothing on Clemenceau), and *Banker's Holiday* is his first shot across corporate America's bow. This is termed, "Corporate Horror" by the publisher, but it's also hilarious and sad and touching. "The Office" meets "Night of the Living Dead" on the set of "Sleepless in Seattle." Unique, inspired work.

Uncompromising Automatic Ashtray

This is a very funny, insightful (and somewhat autobiographical) fantasy by a master of comic wit. You can't put it down, or else you will be taken out and maimed. "Banker's Holiday" is hard to describe, but the closest I can come is "Road Trip" meets "Office Space" from the eyes of the illegitimate child of Henry David Thoreau and Mark Leyner. You will laugh, you will cry, you will remove your spleen and serve with a side of cheese grits. Clemenceau is a highly unpredictable, but immensely talented wordsmith who will have you saying "What the !@*%????" -- but in a good way. An entertaining read for those who want something a bit different.

Mindbendingly Brilliant

Clemenceau is a master of the next universe. His wit and prose know no human limitation. Reading a Banker's Holiday feels like suffocating the latest American Idol with your bear hands... in a surly dream, of course. Kudos to an American Genius.

"I am the son of nudist bankers."

This is such a strange and wonderful book, obviously written for those of us who've served time in Corporate America. The first line (above) says it all. So many of us toe the line between conservative Right and nudist Left without ever picking a lane, never knowing where we fit in. Gary Clemenceau's work rips into this silly false world of questionable ideals and never lets up until the surprising end. I never knew what was going to happen next. The narrative voice is surprising, unique, very smart, gripping, and its own thing. Besides being very funny and occasionally disturbing, it also conjures images and plateaus and ideas that refuse to ungrip the mind, becoming a permanent part of the reader. I can now safely say that I have chosen a lane, and that I am currently naked.
