The Bible Panorama

The Bible Panorama would be a helpful purchase for some but not others. It really depends on your personal library and your needs. If you are simply looking for a companion to your personal reading of the Bible this book would be very helpful. It is not very helpful for sermon or lesson preparation. The chapters in the back are however incredibly helpful.

An excellent resources to understand your Bible

This book contains a book by book, chapter by chapter summary of the Bible. A high overview is given of each chapter, as well as some information on specific verses, though it is not a verse-by-verse commentary. Outlines for each chapter of the Bible are given, followed by a few chapters about the Bible, assistance in beginning and maintaining a study regimen and general information intended to reinforce your love of the scriptures. A few Bible reading schemes are given at the end. There is no fluff to this book, and it provides very little commentary, preferring to allow you, the reader, to see the overview of the passage you are reading, compare it easily with surrounding verses and chapters, and then read the Bible for yourself. This is the finest book of its kind that I have ever looked through because of what it does say as well as what it allows the Scriptures to say for themselves. This book is all about context, providing the reader with both immediate context and a sense of where each chapter fits into the Bible as a whole. I give this book my highest recommendation. It belongs, not on the shelf, but open on the desk of anyone who earnestly wants to mine the Bible for every treasure they can find. Few books that I have seen are able to point you toward the scriptures as well as this one, in fact I cannot think of a better book in this light.
