This is five-star material for the portion of the Bible it covers. The brief, factual summaries of the fourteen books will help you appreciate what you are about to read more fully. It's been a reliable reference for me for over 25 years. I refer to it for background before reading the actual Biblical text. I expect that Trawick's other works (the full OT, NT) would be even more helpful.
