The Best Pesticide: A Digger Sharma Mystery

By Lodovico Settembrini

Meet Digger Sharma, private eye. He's a wisecracking, cynical sleuth in the tradition of Chandler's Philip Marlowe who blends the wisdom of his Indian father with the wit of his Irish mother to solve even the most baffling cases. In The Best Pesticide, the first in a series, Digger finds himself juggling two cases, both of which elude his grasp. While searching for a missing ex-cop, he finds himself irresistibly drawn to the sultry, spoiled wife of a prominent Los Angeles attorney who has hired him to find out if her husband is unfaithful...or so she claims. Digger must contend with brutal thugs and his own foibles to unravel the mystery before he or his clients meet untimely ends amidst the smog and traffic of L.A. The sinuous plot will have you guessing to the end
