A friend to die for...

While it’s not the scariest Fear Street book, The Best Friend is original, suspenseful, and chilling! Becka doesn’t remember ever having met Honey Perkins at any earlier period in her life, yet the new girl in town insists that they have been best friends since childhood. Honey begins to insinuate herself into every aspect of Becka’s life, emulating the girl in every way possible. When Becka’s friends start falling victim to horrifying accidents, she somehow knows that Honey is responsible. This story leads to a shocking conclusion that stands as one of the most surprising, unexpected endings of any book in the series! You’ll enjoy The Best Friend, but I recommend it with a warning. After reading this book, you may find hard to trust your friends ever again!👍🏻👍🏻

This Book Was Awesome

I really loved this book. Really Creative. Love the ending. I can't wait to read the second part.

VERY CHILLING AND JUST PLAIN AWESOME!

THE BEST FRIEND IS ONE OF THE BEST FEAR STREET BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ! THIS IS JUST PLAIN AWESOME! HONEY PERKINS IS ONE BIG PSYCHOPATH! SHE HAS TO BE THE BEST PSYCHO KILLER TO EVER GRACE THE FEAR STREET SERIES IN MY OPINION! THE PLOT IS VERY CREATIVE. AND THE ENDING IS VERY CHILLING. THE BEST FRIEND IS JUST SO COOL! I TOTALLY RECOMMENED THIS ONE!

A Masterpiece

This book is absolutely top notch and the creme de la creme of the suspense novels I wasted my early teens reading. For anyone who knows Hitchcock, Best Friend is R.L. Stine's Vertigo. It's superficially alot like his other work, but in content it's heads above the rest. Honey Perkins is the most frightening and surrealistically realized antagonist of any of his novels, perhaps because so many questions are left tantalizingly unresolved. That alot of people don't like the ending is testimony to the power of this book to actually disturb, which is the whole point of suspense. The digressions into teenage life that tend to disrupt his other works somehow work here, and the novel's campy yet chilling atmosphere is paradigmatic of everything that makes teen suspense great. Kudos to R.L. for having the courage to actually write such a surreal and bone-chilling tale for young adult audiences, and curses on everyone who asked for the sequel.

Sad, thrilling and brilliant!

I am a R.L.stine addict, i have over 136 books of his :) All his books show excellent writing skills and i can't wait to read many more, i prefer the fear street books to the goosebumps because i am 15:) Anyone who will read a book by r.l.stine is in for a bone chilling read! :)

It was really good

I think that this was a really good book and one of the best R.L. Stine has done. The ending was kinda weird though.
