The good deeds done wrap around to benefit the doer
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
This tale is superficially about a sick dragon whose friend wants to help him feel better. However, it is fundamentally about how good deeds done wrap around to benefit you. Max is sick and his friend Eliot bakes him cookies and makes him a card. However, when he is on his way to deliver them he encounters Vera who is in desperate need of a dessert and Bruno, who is in desperate need of a card. Being kind and slow to protest, Eliot ends up trading the cookies and the card for a bucket of soup and a box of tissues. When Eliot arrives at Max's house, he learns that what he has is exactly what Max needs, so everyone is happy. At the end of the book there are instructions on how to make kites, peanut butter cookies and fruity cards, the items mentioned in the book. This will make the story much more interesting; as there is no question that children will immediately want to do those activities once they have read the book. Since they are fun and fairly simple, they will add to the fun and place no severe stress on the parent.
