Looking for just the right children's books?
Here is the perfect resource to help parents, grandparents, friends, teachers, and librarians choose appropriate books for children.
The Best Children's Books of the Year has been published annually for more than 80 years. This guidebook contains upwards of 600 annotated titles and it is so easy to use. It is divided into over 30 age and subject categories for children aged infant to 14. The fiction listings are divided into sections by age and arranged by topic: adventure, animals, folk and fairy tales, growing up, mystery, science fiction, sports, and more. Another section lists nonfiction and poetry titles, also arranged by topic. This year's special Centerfold Section presents a generous sampling of "Old Favorites in New Editions," reissues of time-honored children's classics.
All of the books have been reviewed by the nonprofit Children's Book Committee of Bank Street College of Education. The Committee's members include educators, librarians, authors, illustrators, and parents. Many of the books are also read and evaluated by children who range in age from two to fourteen.
