Answered all of my questions

My son is considering going to medical school. I was very curious about what that would entail. I wondered what was required to be admitted, how long it takes, how much it cost, how many go to medical school, why do students decide to go to medical school and where are the medical schools located? This book answered all my questions and many more. It is a wealth of information and has really helped me discuss with my son all of the possibilities.

Medical School Guide

Great book that offers a lot of details about meedical school requirements and general information. Extremely useful for students wanting to get into a school and haven't decided which, as well as those who don't know what the school's individual requirements are.

Overall a good guide

Being a non-traditional applicant I found this guide very helpful- it has a lot of useful information on preparing for med school including MCAT, applications, essays, interviewing, etc. Another bonus- it has a section explaining the differences and similarities between allopathic & osteopathic med schools which other guides don't cover adequately. The only negative about this guide is the applicant stats on the profiled schools- it isn't up to date but I guess this can be remedied by referring to the annual guides published by AAMC or AOA.

Encouragement

For the NonTrad out there looking for answers to that question that has loomed over their head for so long this book has the answer. It provides examples of other nontrads who have made the decision and succeeded.
