Sister Bear has made it to the school spelling bee Papa Bear is very proud and excited to help her practice . . . and practice . . . and practice. . . . But will all of this p-r-a-c-t-i-c-e take all of the f-u-n out of spelling for Sister?
When Sister surprisingly wins the school spelling bee, Papa takes over and gets overly excited. When Sister has to spell "vicarious" then that's when Papa realizes that he is doing that very thing with Sister. What a great lesson for parents reading the story, along with helping children learn to read rather large words. My little one picked this one out himself and started reading it. Great book, very interesting, with an adult lesson as well. And, if you're used to the Berenstains, son Mike is helping out with this one so the drawings are a little more modern than other Berenstain books. Great book, loved in this house, highly recommend!
Good for Adults too

Sister Bear just won the school's warm up spelling Bee contest. Now everyone knows about it including Papa. Papa is so excited that he forces her to learn more words. She cannot even go play with her friends. He drills the words into her. At first he thought she could handle the pressure, but at the end he realizes he was only using Sister to give himself delight she should have had.
