The Bends is a collection of various poetry that span a 16-year period, starting when I was 17 years old. Some of it isn't great, some I cut because I wasn't ready to share it yet, but some I love. This chapbook is about giving myself grace, accepting the good and bad, even in writing, and letting it see outside the documents of my computer. I think, while evaluating the contents of the book, my favorites tend to be Howling Moons and Neon Nights, I'm Fine, The Bends, Ghosts and Squatters and When Did I Stop Making Shampoo Mohawks. When it comes to poetry, I've performed at the Columbus Arts Festival and been published in various places here and there, but nothing major. I decided it was time to share these-even if nobody finds them or reads them.
