The Bench Where We Begin

By Timothy W Jensen

A Christian Fiction Story for Anyone Who Has Loved Deeply, Lost Deeply, and Still Hopes for Redemption

After forty years of teaching, Perry Whitlock imagines a quiet, joy-filled retirement with his beloved wife, Sarah. But on the night meant to celebrate their future, tragedy strikes-leaving Perry alone, unmoored, and questioning everything he once believed.

In the hollow silence that follows, Perry drifts away from his church, his community, and even the God he once trusted. His days blur into one another... until the afternoon he wanders to the weathered bench overlooking the pond-Sarah's favorite place.

There, on that simple wooden bench, an unexpected friendship forms. And slowly, gently, grace begins to breathe again.
