THE BELLE STILL STANDS is a novel about the lives, struggles and successes of Bennett College, a small women's only liberal arts college in Greensboro, North Carolina and generations of Alumni. It takes place in recent times and centers around the college's fight to maintain accreditation. The stories of four Alumni are told through their own eyes and experiences but via interviews with a local television news reporter. Each woman's fascinating story is brought to life by the era and times during her tenure as a student at Bennett. The 'real' times such as the Civil Rights Movement, the Sit-In Movement, and politics can not be avoided. However the fictional experiences of friendship, romance and sisterhood enhance the story and provide memories and history for any reader.
