"The Bedeviled" is nothing short of a brilliant novel of the question of sanity. As the lead character, a woman torn apart by fear and frustration, is faced with otherworldly possibilties, she begins to questions her sanity, and so will you, the reader! The story, about a family that moves to an Ohio farmhouse, only to fall prey to it's unGodly calling and all therin the satanic pursuits that follow, has all the power of every 'old fear' you used to not be able to trust. All your securities will come undone and your senses will abandon you when you read more and more into these characters and the nightmarish situations they have to endure. All the characters are likable and the audience really gets to know them, why they are and what they are... The situations are believable, and that is part of what makes the story so frightening. The fact that you can actually believe what is going on because Cullinan does a terrific job and building the suspense, and counting on the timing to pull and strain the reader's nerves. It works! Cullinan also uses great image in his words that paint a portrait and a dream like landscape in the readers' mind. Don't let this book pass you by: Grab a copy...if you can find one! A Good Book

I have never read a book as extreme as this! "The Bedeviled" by Thomas Cullinan gives one heck of a punch, certainly blowing any Stephen King novel way out of the water! This electrifying story of utter terror is the single most frightening book I have ever read! It has a great introduction, and all the characters are easily, and properly defined. Cullinan was a real storyteller in his day, and it proves so. This genuine work of literature is composed of familiar elements from "The Stepford Wives", "Rosemary's Baby", and "The Exorcist". It takes these elements and intwines them to provide us with an excrutiating novel of unthinkable terror. The story is about Maggie, a woman who watches her life, and family fall apart after she is moved from the home she loves in New York, to the eerie house in Ohio, one in her husbands family. Once there, bizare times plague her life: Her sons screams in the night, her daughter's strange behavior, her awkward neihbors down the road, and the demonic horse chasing her in the night. She fears the worst, as she believes the terror is coming from her husbands great, great grandfather, and if she's right, it's far worse than she could ever imagine... The entire story has a great twist at the end, one I sure couldn't expect, and I'm pretty good at that. Furthermore, the story has great narration, as it paints pictures of the incidents in your mind. The entire story is scary, shocking, and fascinating. This one's got some touchy subject matter, making it strictly for adults, and strictly for scares!
