The Beautiful Losers: Convict's Code is a 648 page book that once you start reading you won't be able to put it down! It was written by a prisoner who is locked away in the depths of super-maximum security facilities, and is your ULTIMATE prison story. If you liked The Shawshank Redemption, you will love this book! It reads like a true story because much of it is based on the actual experiences of its author, including the takeover of a high security facility and its fortress-like gun tower, which was situated in the center of the prison compound. That event turned into the longest prison hostage standoff in U.S. history, and correlates with this story. Many of the characters in it were inspired by actual persons and features killers and queens, and all those in between. They range from endearing and hilarious (you'll LYAO!), to diabolical and death row deadly.

This almost true story begins in Arizona's newest prison facility and details how Ronan and Dillon were able to thwart security and take guards hostage as they took control of their cellblock. They intended to issue a list of demands that would better their living conditions, but Ronan kept his true desires for wanting to spark an uprising secret, and "Deathwish" Dillon had his own ulterior motives.

This is a fast paced, thrilling, humorous and sometimes sad story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and the pages turning, and its conclusion is nothing short of stunning.
