This is the sixth volume of the Marketeer Chronicles. Caroline Williams is back in England, this time working at a summer school in Plumstead in East London. What follows is possibly the worst weekend of her life as her centre is assailed from all directions by angry local residents, rampaging youths and plasma hungry rioters. Caroline organises the teachers and staff into a defensive army out to stop anybody gaining entry to the college. Twelve manic hours follow as the staff use any means at their disposal to protect the children and college. The story echoes the 1963 film, Zulu, on so many levels.
