A fresh and incisive examination of one of the Second World War's crucial campaigns, the battle for Normandy in the months after D-Day. What happened to the Allied armies in Normandy in the months... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I haven't quite finished this book yet, but I've throughly enjoyed reading it. This book is not a biased criticism! It is simply an historical work that looks at the battle of Normandy from the British and Canadian perspective. I'm sure there are countless works that focus primarily on the American contribution, so I have no idea why a few reviews are so upset about this fact. Because the British and Canadian efforts in the Battle of Normandy were every bit as vital as that of the American's for the success of Montgomery's strategy - and Overlord was a success against fanatical German resistance - it is important that Canadian and British contribution is not forgotten.
