The Bastard of Saddle Isle

By Daniel Barr

Taken from the arms of their mothers, twenty bastard children of King William II of England are shipped south, tasked to rule over an isle only known to those who need to. Connected solely by the blood of a father they do not know, the new patricians of Saddle Isle must adapt quickly as they transition from rags to rulers. The equal share of power across the five provinces allows for democracy to flourish - but as each patrician grows in confidence, their thirst for complete control grows with it. Will they be able to resist the temptation of power, or will prosperity be destroyed at the hands of greed? Love, peace, politics and betrayal lay ahead, as Lord Barrat of House Pearson guides the reader through the twisted history of an isle one never knew existed.

Daniel Barr is a British author, born and bred in the historic city of Liverpool, with a bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of Leeds. 'The Bastard of Saddle Isle' is Barr's debut novel.
