Great introduction to machine knitting

The Basic Book of Machine Knitting is a great introduction to knitting machines. It was published in 1978 but has held up well since the basic technology has not changed. It is well illustrated and the section I saw on how a knitting machine knits is one of the best I have seen. There are lively discussions of yarn and knitting techniques. I esepecially enjoyed the illustrations of knitting techniques artfully used. There is a nice table of Common Mistakes and how to fix them. It is British so sometimes the terms are puzzling. Well worth searching for.
