Original

I have to say that I read the Bargin when it was first published. I appreciated the way that she did not get into the race of the characters. She spoke of them as we all should as if they were not a race, but people (which we all are). If one did not know the period they would not know the race of the characters. The original book has no characters on the cover. I thought that she did this with such taste. I was and continue to be a big fan of Mrs. Rays. Keep up the good work Francis.

LOVED IT!

I don't usually read the historial romance novels until some friends and a sister-in-law got me started. This was one of the first I read and I LOVED IT!!! (They've gotten me hooked!) It's a very sweet story and it's funny how stubborn some people can be. It's definately a book I'd like to pick up and read later on as well. I can't wait to read some of her other books! (Sorry this isn't a book report =) start reading and I bet you'll like it!!!)

The Bargain - A Well Sealed Agreement

I truly enjoyed reading The Bargain. I love reading all types of books and I felt this book was one on the top of my list. I thought the characters were great together -- the strong- willed Alexandria and the dashing Thorne. They were made for each other even though both tried to deny their true feelings. The plot was great. I have read other books by Ms. Ray that are wonderful also. I would like to see a sequel to The Bargain with a storyline involving Thorne's sister, Judith, and perhaps The Shadow or Lord Stonewell. I think Judith showed courage and will not let her handicap hinder her from finding true love. Judith is a character by herself and deserves her own story! Please keep this in mind, Ms. Ray. Again, all of your books are great and I look forward to reading more of your books.

Right on the money.

& #65279;This is my first time writing a book review. I have read all of the books I could get my hands on by Francis Ray. I enjoy her writing style. The Bargain was great. I couldn't put the book down after I started reading it. I enjoyed the book so much I gave it to my girlfriend and she said the same thing. We often share books and discuss the book after we have read them. The characters were far from predictable and they held my interest. Keep up the good work....

I Would Not Mind Making A Bargain With A Modern Day Thorne!

I really, really, really absolutely loved this book. It has to be up there with the best ever written, of course I am bias because Ms Ray is a favorite of mine. Alex and Thorne have a love that was truly made in heaven. I loved Alex's character, she was the extremely independent type, Thorne had no choice but to fall in love with her. Of course, back in that time women were seen and not heard. That did not apply to Alexandria Carstairs, Thorne did have a time with her but some people don't change. Well I do not what to ruin the story for you. Please, please, please try and find a copy of this book, you will not be disappointed! ... This is a must read book! Much, much, much love to Ms Ray!
