The author Sheryl and her sister Tara begin their lives in a rural area of southern Indiana. Their fathers' nomadic spirit moves them all over the United States, during which time nothing goes as planned. The Banana Peel diaries follows the sisters' journey through growing up together, getting married, and raising families.
