Which is more dangerous - the bad boy or the bear?
Fifteen-year-old Dani Moser has one dream: to play blues guitar like her idol Janis Joplin. Instead, she's stuck spending the summer in a tiny Arkansas Ozarks town with her dad and her annoying little brother. No friends. No music scene. No future.
Then she meets Eli - small-town bad boy, bluegrass musician, and student of Native American ritual magic. Then she meets the bear - massive, black, and somehow connected to her in a way she can't explain.
Suddenly Dani's summer gets a lot more interesting. And a lot more dangerous.
When Eli discovers Dani's mystical bond with the bear, he sees an opportunity: a blood ritual that could heal his dying father. All he needs is a sacrifice. And Dani's little brother is the perfect candidate.
Dani has to choose between the boy she's falling for and her own brother.
It should be an easy choice.
...Shouldn't it?
