This employment reference guide for actors, singers and dancers offers information on every phase of career planning, from getting started in the entertainment business to discovering the many... This description may be from another edition of this product.
An informative book for those just starting out in the business or just getting out of theatre school... or anyone curious about the ins and outs of the entertainment world, from an actor's point of view. Includes interviews with casting directors, information on unions, and chapters on things like "Acting in Student Films" that can help actors get solid experience and credits right out of the gate. Lots of need-to-know information here. This handbook is basically a "Best of" collection of articles from acting/performing-arts trade magazine Back Stage (see: [...]).
A useful guide (provided no one has moved)

This book gives information on how to contact agents and break into any aspect (almost) of show biz. It also has lists and lists of addresses to write to for agents, casting directors, auditions, etc... It's very useful, giving you all the needed information in one place instead of telling you to look at Ross Reports, but if addresses and phone numbers and contact people have changed (as they frequently do) it might not be as useful. If a newer version comes out, I'd buy that right away.
