It is 1948 when two oil prospectors accidentally stumble onto something un-worldly in the desert of New Mexico. Within a year, they team up with a magazine journalist who writes about the incident in his column. After the journalist releases a top selling book divulging the secret, the men become entangled in a complicated scheme centered on finding oil deposits using alien technology. The scientists find themselves in trouble with the law and the alleged saucer crash is discounted as a hoax. Years later, some believe that parts of the story may be true and that the key players were hushed because "they knew too much."
