One of the Avengers' greatest foes, Baron Zemo, formed the Thunderbolts as a team of ostensible heroes who were truly super-villains in disguise. When the team's true motives were exposed, some of the Thunderbolts remained together to try to make it as heroes. Now Zemo has a new plot that teams him with the hordes of Hydra -- and the Avengers and the Thunderbolts must put aside their differences and work together to stop the greater threat of Zemo
This book did a fabulous job of transferring what we see in the comics we buy each week into words only and getting it just right. I was very pleased with the author's handling of the character of Thor in particular, as he is my personal favorite, but all the characters were well handled and well written. The story was excellent overall. Marvel, give us more of THIS!!!!

This book was action packed. This the best team up since the Time Arrow Trilogy, with the X-Men and Spider Man. A must have for all Marvel readers.

This is the first time I've been exposed to the Thunderbolts but the Avengers and Hawkeye I've enjoyed in previous books and comics. I enjoyed the teaming up of the villians and the heroes, then the double cross between the villians you knew had to happen. I enjoyed the book it was fast paced and introduced the characters well to us who aren't familiar with them.
wonderful team-up novel!

It's hard to pull off this many characters in one book, but it figures that Askegren can do it. He juggled the FF and Inhumans in the great _Countdown to Chaos_, and he does it here with the Avengers and Thunderbolts. The novel is worthy of Kurt Busiek's best work, and has a _great_ villain team-up of Baron Zemo and Baron Strucker. (Their sword fight at the end is one of the best parts of the book.)
First novel starring the Avengers in years is great.

The Avengers and the Thunderbolts. Two of Marvel's best selling comic books now appear in their own novel, written by Pierce Askegren. The story is well written and moves along at a fast rate. This is the first Marvel novel which serves as a tie in to current stories going on in the comics and it's a smooth transistion from one form of story telling to another. I hope this is the begining of many more Avengers novels to come.
