Pure Excellence

This is a work of fine science and aesthetics. No title I have seen since approaches the quality of scope and detail presented in this extraordinary encyclopedia. What I found most fascinating was how this book condenses a massive volume of planetary data in an orderly and easily referenced fashion, without sacrificing the depth and details. Physics, chemistry, geology, history and art are treated as necessary equals. Other books cover certain topics in detail whilst overviewing the rest--not so here; everything from orbital dynamics to nomenclature to beautiful full-page photos round out the most comprehensive, yet clear, Solar System encyclopedia ever published.
