The Atheist's Bible: An Illustrious Collection of Irreverent Thoughts

A wise and witty collection of quips, quotes, and musings from the world's greatest geniuses and jokers, proving once again that "all thinking men are atheists" (Ernest Hemingway)

"The world would be astonished if it knew how great a proportion of its brightest ornaments, of those most distinguished even in popular estimation for wisdom and virtue, are complete skeptics in religion."--John Stewart Mill

Its a good toilet read

I like to take a few minutes and read some humor. It helps me get the day started right. I like to read things that make me question and think.

A Must-Purchase

Despite what you may be thinking, this is not this angry, “I hate religion” book. It’s an incredibly thoughtful, sometimes inspiring/encouraging, witty collection of thoughts I’m very glad I purchased. I would recommend this to anyone, regardless of your belief or lack thereof. I found myself saying aloud, “Yes! Exactly!” on more than one occasion.

A Must Read for everyone from 9 to 99

This book is the holly grail of reason, common sense and progressive thought. It ought to be mandatory reading in every school and placed in every hotel room instead of the Christian mythology book. I give this book as a gift very often. A must read!

I've "come out" as a disbeliever...

...and it's so nice to find that better minds than mine have been, and are disbelievers, too. Albert Einstein, for instance. A friend of mine used to say that the only reason he believed in God was that Einstein was quoted as saying, "'God does not play dice with the universe.' And if it was good enough for Albert, it was good enough for him." Well, Einstein may have said it, but the Atheist's Bible has a few terse quotes from Albert Einstein saying, "no, I've been misquoted." That's right. Albert Einstein was a non-believer. If you've ever wondered whether you were the only non-believer in the world; a closet heretic like me, then this book will be a God-send (oops!) for you. Atheists, you can come out now and join the company of Lord Byron, Mark Twain, Thomas Paine, George Bernard Shaw, Gertrude Stein, et al. You won't be burned for your disbelief's.

One of the best collections of quotes I've read

Granted I'm 21 and I don't have the most experience in life, yet this book has been a one of the best. The quotes sum up many arguements that have been forming in my education and has provided many new questions. This book made me chuckle (intelligent humor) and think a lot. Well worth the money. I would recommend it to anyone that's old enough to have a somewhat concrete self.

Great book of quotes. Laid out great!

This book is laid out in a unique fashion, modeling the Judeo-Christian bible, it has separate "books" and "gospels" that pertain to a specific region of secular thinking. Overall great ammunition for the secular right, all atheists, and freethinkers. Highly recommended!

Great!

Handy little book. Funny and poignant. It contains many irreligious quotes from all different walks of life. I definitely recommend it.
