The Assamese Verb is a peer-reviewed investigative study on the Word-class Verb in Standard Assamese. The descriptive account of the Assamese verbs appertaining to various grammatical aspects incorporates Time-Tense exponency, Aspectual abstraction, Agreement, patterns of verb Complementation, polarity contrast, strategies and types of Causativization, Interrogativization and Passivization. The verbal paradigms of both finite tensed and non-tensed forms as well as nonfinite forms are also explored to unravel their distributional system. A taxonomy of lexical verbs too is carried out with illustrations. Further, a typology of non-lexical verbs is dealt with throwing light on the usages and functions of Modal, Passive and Aspectual auxiliaries in Assamese.
