When Sumit, a young railway officer, is posted to Vaitarna Station, he expects only solitude. Instead, he finds a place steeped in unease-flanked by looming hills and an abandoned cremation ground that smolders with unseen eyes. The only company is Arjun, a jittery village boy who warns him: "The ground takes what it wants."
As ghostly occurrences unfold-vanishing water, spectral whispers, figures on the tracks-Sumit discovers a locket tied to a local legend: a woman and child killed in a decades-old derailment. Nightmares follow, along with visions of the woman in a tattered sari and a toy train that rolls on its own. Even the living seem haunted-Vikram, a nearby farmer, speaks in riddles about the hills and the dead who never left.
Desperate to free the spirits, Sumit performs a quiet ritual-returning the ghostly toy to the tracks. When the train passes, the spirits fade, and the station breathes again. But the peace is short-lived.
