A FMC I actually liked! And hot vampires.

As a fantasy/romantasy fan that hates to suffer through dull writing, plot holes, and an unlikable fmc (why are they always tiny and ridiculous?), I felt this series rose above while still delivering on some beloved tropes: enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, morally gray heroes — oh, and hot vampires. Enough spice to sate me (though I prefer a slowburn) and better written than its peers (Fourth Wing, for example. Flop). I finished the first book in two nights and just ordered the second installment. Will updated this review once finished, but so far, highly recommend.

I am now a forever follower of Carissa Broadbent. The adventure, the fantastic characters, and the romance 🥰 are absolute perfection for me. I am calling this my first “big girl” book series. Last year, at 37 years old, I decided that I was going to try and get into reading. After almost a year of reading a cozy murder mystery series it was time for a REAL book. And buddy this was fantastic and will keep me reading. P.S. I highly recommend the audio book as well.

This is the second books in a series, I enjoyed the first. The second is much heavier on war, but overall a solid read!

It arrived in such great condition. I am super happy with my purchase. I can’t wait to start reading. The first book was AMAZING I couldn’t put it down! My only draw back is the pages are soooo thin. You have to be extremely careful with them.
