Michael Kleinschmidt (1948-2017) exemplified what it meant to be a creative soul using a range of outlets to express what he saw and felt in the universe around him. While in his school, he wrote his first musical composition and honed his skills in front of and behind the camera. In college, he created environments as stages for photographs that were "still movies." He sketched constantly, painted, and wrote scripts and made short silent films. He later became a master metal sculptor. The first half of the book presents a collection of his photography, sketches, paintings, and sculptures. The second half features a few poems and an edited transcription of a recording he made while driving from California to Wisconsin and back. Michael Kleinschmidt's artistry can be categorized simultaneously as "of the time" and timeless.
