More than 30 paintings of Boonton done by Bob Bogue and compiled by Lloyd Charlton make up this wonderful pictorial history of Boonton. These paintings were exhibited at the Boonton Historical Museum and Lloyd conceived of this book as a photo album celebrating Bob's incredible contribution to Boonton's history as shown through his artistic talent.By using old photographs and postcards, Bob was able to capture important landmarks such as the Iron Works, the trolley that used to run along Main Street, the Puddingstone Inn, Whalen's drug store, some prominent old Churches, some typical homes built in the 1920s, the local Darress theater (then named the State Theater), the firehouse/town hall, the Powerville dam and other charming paintings.More than 15 paintings were done over the last several years as Lloyd asked his old friend Bob (now in his 80s) to paint works of personal significance to Lloyd, whose family history in Boonton dates back several generations.
