A Journey of Discovery.

Before reading this book I considered my life to be on task, but now I can see quite frankly that I was just kidding myself. Reading this book is like nothing I have ever experienced in my life. When you read it you realize you are really reading the dream of the author and like the dream it seems to be difficult to recover or remember that dream, but in real life when something gets triggered inside me by my environment the information in the book appears and has replaced my old internal dialogue with fragments of the book. Life for me is still confronting but now I seem to speedily shift from situation to situation with a fluid ease that I have not experienced before in my life. I am feeling very confident now because I have something to back me up that talks to me in a real voice. I found the hieroglyphs immensely useful in allowing me to see what is really occurring in front of me from moment to moment. This is a magical book.

new ways of seeing

I am writing this review primarily to thank the author, for reminding me of things I dearly needed to remember. I had my doubts when this book was recommended to me by a dear friend, whose enthusiastic claims seemed to me at the time a little far-fetched and stirred up some resistance and skepticism. Having read the book however, I find myself being transformed by its contents in ways I would not have dared hope for. The revelations of Lujan Matus and his companians have entered my world with profound effects on my conduct, the language of my thoughts and the quality of my interactions. I feel even my past transforming under the impact of new perspectives and intentions, lifting the weight of those collected experiences to reveal previously untapped lessons and gifts. In particular the stories of Lujan's childhood triggered a personal reconnection to my own memories of that original innocence, which alone was worth the read. Parts of the book I had some trouble getting through - 'Emptying the Imprint' as an example seemed conceptually dense and heavy going at the time and I felt as though I wasn't entirely absorbing the information - but what I discovered later was that when these mysteriously stored concepts collided with my life circumstances, I had new perceptual resources at my disposal and could act with greater fluidity and directness. The detailed information on the alien heiroglyphs also resonated very strongly for me. These maps of awareness have been extremely useful as a key to understanding myself and why things are the way they are - through looking at the state of the inner child as the issue of primary importance in relation to our self expression and ability to percieve. Overall I feel I am being rearranged to become more real and I am truly grateful. Thank you.

A refreshing new perspective

I have read all of Castaneda's books and found them immensely valuable in helping me to see things from a different point of view but at times I had difficulty with some of the concepts as they often seemed abstract to me. This book has given me a new way of thinking about some of these concepts. In particular I have struggled with Castaneda's recapitulation technique and have had trouble disciplining myself with a consistent practice. From this book I have learnt a new approach to the recapitulation which I can relate to much better and it is helping me immensely with this aspect of my development. This book has reminded me of the importance of personal integrity for those on a journey of power. I would highly recommend it not only for those who are familiar with Castaneda's work but for anyone who is interested in self-improvement and making the most of our precious time on the planet.

Everyone should read this book!

'The Art of Stalking Parallel Perception; The Living Tapestry of Lujan Matus' is a stunningly original work, the first, and hopefully not the last, novel from this mystic pioneer. Upon reading the book I became transfixed by the language, drawn into its dream-like web and held there. The novel describes the authors travels and encounters in parallel states of awareness and dreams, and the lessons presented to him by a group of seers, who reveal themselves one by one, cloaked in mystery and to be possessing great power. From the very start, the reader becomes aware that this is no ordinary book, the authors energy literally springs off the page, commanding your attention. Anyone seriously interested in self development, personal empowerment, the nature and navigation of dream states or any other kind of existential enquiry seriously owes it to themselves to read this book. In the fascinating genre of shamanism/sorcery, 'The Art of Stalking Parallel Perception' is an extraordinarily exciting book, going beyond, in terms of depth and directness, the works of Carlos Castaneda and his contemporaries Florinda Donner and Taisha Abelar. The first chapter, 'Shamanic Dreaming', describes the author's initiation into the dream maker's realm, where he is cast through a whirlwind of scenes and dream states. We are introduced to Somai and Lucien, seers possessing great power and knowledge. The author is then given his name, as a gift of power; "Your inner child has absorbed the old nagual Lujan's luminosity and has been qualified, and through this qualification you have also inherited his name." The second chapter, 'Threads of Intention', deals with the trappings of mankind, both internally and socially. Lujan's seer companions attempt to help him to extricate himself from the encumbering forces of socialization through understanding. The dialogue covers rarely dealt with subjects that we are all subliminally aware of, such as the inter-connective corruption that exists within us and the power of words. In the next chapter, 'The Hidden Fabric', we are introduced to Malaiyan, a gentle and poetic warrior. His lessons are interlaced with provocative images and stunning metaphors; "Can you sit and be silent, Lujan? Silence as a concept seems to be as elusive as picking up water with your bare hands". The fourth chapter, 'Fear Not, Be Free', features dialogues between the author and Barak, a man of courage who instructs on the nature of fear and how man can extricate himself from its clutches. The tone of the book shifts in chapter 5, 'Haunted Awareness', with a truly chilling account of darker forces at play within mechanisms of the mind of man, followed by a series of symbolic alien hieroglyphs, 'The hieroglyph of haunted awareness' and 'The hieroglyph of inner light'. All aspects of the symbols are explained and comparisons drawn between them. The effect that viewing these strange images and reading their accompanying explanations had on me was cathartic. The ch

A book full of priceless gems,

Since reading The Art of Stalking Parallel Perception it has been continually working its magic in my everday life. The words and images conjured by Lujan Matus and his cohorts appear daily in my consciousness to enliven new awareness and perspectives into my circumstances and give me insights as to how I can proceed in the most energetically beneficial way. I have seen myself making quantum leaps recently in terms of personal development and this book plays an inestimable role in that transformation. When I recommend the book and people ask me to what it is about I find myself at a loss to encompass its range and depth with any kind of summary, then later in conversation I feel I must sound like I've joined some kind of cult as I excitedly refer to parts of the book in relation to so many different topics of discussion. Its not that kind of book though, there is no inherent demand to subscribe to any kind of ideology apart from principles of personal integrity and the willingness to grow beyond where you are. The book is about living: our multidimensional existence, dreaming, behaviour and communication, sexual practices, heiroglyphs that are keys to our present evolutionary location - even Jesus, kung fu and one very powerful ancient Mongolian shaman form part of this phenomanal narrative. All these elements are seamlessly presented in a direct and immediate manner that, while often introducing frankly mind-bending concepts and frequently providing a big slap in the face to devious behaviours, ultimately rings true in a way that is unmistakable to anyone who dares to enter.
