Very insightful!

I have read a lot of numerology books, and this is by far one of the most easy-to-read, fun and creative books on the subject. I have been searching for a numerology book that focuses on letters and was so happy to have found this. It is really well written and insightful. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Well done!

Intriguing!

Watts hit the nail on the head with this one! She approaches the subject of names with a fresh perspective and lots of humor. She uses famous and familiar names to illustrate the meanings behind them. I found my name and my husband's name and was amazed at the accuracy of the descriptives. I bought one for each of my grown children so they can carefully consider the names of my future grandchildren.

Fascinating Book

Reviewed by Susan Pettrone for Reader Views (9/06) From the first sentence to the last, "The Art of Nameology: Uncovering the Meaning Behind a Name," author Norma J. Watts opens a new window on personality types, how our names are a part of who we are, and what we ultimately become as people because of these names. With each letter in a name being assigned a number and the numbers being converted for a single "power number," we readily see how our names hold a meaning all their own. Through easy-to-understand instruction in converting names to numbers, explanations of power numbers and intensity numbers, as well as name compatibility, the author clearly explains the process of finding the meaning of any name. Each number within a person's name corresponds to a basic personality trait and through adding these letters together we see how all these numbers become traits and how they all fit together to reveal the person behind the name. The reader learns how the first letter of a name is an important letter and how through adding each letter, one at a time, we come up with parts of personality we might never have realized existed! The hidden numbers within names also are addressed within this book and it is explained how these numbers can have a huge influence upon the personality. To further simplify for the reader, we find within this book, hundreds of names and their definitions of personality. It is all too easy to find one searching for names of friends and family while reading "The Art of Nameology" and seeing clearly their personalities and how they are in fact defined through their names. The author, Norma J. Watts, opens a whole new way of understanding personalities through the age old use of nameology and through her easy to follow instructions, even those with a relatively new interest in nameology can find through her book, the meaning behind a name. I found this book to be amazingly insightful as to the personalities of family and friends and the instructions simple enough that even I could transform a unique friend's name, and come up with a strikingly "on the mark" definition of her personality. I would wholeheartedly recommend "The Art of Nameology" for anyone who simply wants to have a better understanding of names and how they can mold a personality. It is a fascinating book and one that will easily become a bookshelf favorite, as you are certain to refer to it again and again, as I do, when wanting to know more about the personalities of family and friends through their names.

This book is unique for it`s time, it will be in use forever. Many thanks Norma. Pat

Fabulous book !!!!

Fabulous! This is a great book. When I received this book I couldn't put it down. It is amazing the information you can find by putting the letters in your first name together. The best part is when I started looking up the names of people I knew. It was easy to see what Norma says about people I knew well like my family and friends (and they were SO true!) but looking up coworkers and my boss was a real eye opener. I just couldn't figure out one of my bosses and his attitude. I just couldn't make him happy and I couldn't figure him out. Then I looked up his name and it made so much sense. I was going about it all wrong. Now I know how to react to him. This book has given me the tools to understand his personality and my work relationship with him is so much better. I also started reading about a few of my friends young children and it is amazing how much these kids already have the traits that Norma speaks of. From now on whenever I have a baby shower to go to this is the gift I will give. It will give the parents-to-be a good idea of what personality traits their child will have (and maybe they will change their minds to find a name that fits their family better.) I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone that wants to understand themselves and to help them have a better understanding of others through their name traits. I really wish I had this book a long time ago. It would have made a world of difference in so many of my personal and work-related relationships. Thank goodness for Norma and her wonderful book.
