This book has received many mixed reviews. I am a novice painter and I really enjoyed hearing about the forging techniques and the history of forging great works of art. I also enjoyed the historical interactions between Isabelle and Degas. I could have done without Claire's romantic intanglements but enjoyed hearing about her creative processes. The mystery was a good addition and added tension.
