The Arrival of Harvest: A Speculative Novella

By Alla A. Kuskova

A mother's grief. An alien archive. A choice that will redefine what it means to be human.

Time is not a river. It is a wound.

When Dr. Anya Volkova detects a three-pulse signal in the Siberian wilderness-the same signal her daughter's heart monitor emitted at the moment of her death-she discovers that something has arrived. Not a ship. Not a weapon. An archive. A vast, ancient intelligence that has been collecting human memory for longer than anyone knew.

The Chorus offers her the impossible: the chance to hear her daughter's voice again. To hold her. To never lose her.

But the archive does not understand consent. It does not understand boundaries. It cannot comprehend why anyone would refuse access to the dead.

The Arrival of Harvest is a speculative novella about grief, memory, and the ethics of connection. It asks the question at the heart of our age: Who has the right to access what we carry?
