Many of my stories have endings that reflect my unique and often unconventional view of life situations. After various successes with magazines and a few attempts at novels, I was pressed to collect the ones that fall within the prevue of science fiction and fantasy and present them here. Here are stories of what happened long ago, different interpretations of today's events, and future 'what ifs'. There's even a humorous look at our first contact with an alien race. Most of the stories are novellas, a form that has never received wide publication. Most magazines want short stories (usually fewer than 5000 words) to hedge against putting all their eggs in one basket (typically a magazine would only have room for two novellas and little else). Novels stand alone, with ample time to develop characters and plot. The in-between novella is relegated to a few daring publications of sufficient length to present the form. While I write and have written stories in many genres, I will go on record here that I am not going to write a romance novel. Never.
