"The Arch" I wrote this in honor of one of my best friends. William "Bill" Beatty, an amazing individual who I met while working as Assistant Chief of Police in Davis, West Virginia. Mr. Bill was from Pennsylvania and loved hunting the Canaan Valley area in Tucker County, West Virginia. Mr. Bill loved life, loved hunting, and I found out he loved God. I left Davis, and moved to Burnsville, WV where I took on the Chief of Police position there. He was able to make a few trips to hunt with me in Gilmer County where I lived at the time. Sadly Mr. Bill developed cancer after I had moved back to Gassaway, WV. His girlfriend Betty called me and gave me the devastating news of Mr. Bill's illness. I traveled to the hospital where he had undergone surgery for his cancer and was honored to be a part of his and Betty's wedding while he was in the hospital. Time went on and eventually, I lost contact with Mr. Bill, but he held a place in my heart as a friend. I wrote this in his honor, as I can see through my mind's eye that this would have been something, he would have done for me. Mr. Bill, thank you for all you taught me, and all the great hunts we shared. Until we meet again.
