When Yahweh created the sun and the moon and the stars, on the fourth day of creation, he said that these heavenly bodies would be indicators for the "mo dim" or "appointed times". The Creator's intention for these signs was not only that they should indicate the difference between days and nights, but also that they should mark the different seasons and the various feasts. An appointed time is exactly what its name says: It is a time (in other words, a day or a season) that has been established by the Creator, and which is not supposed to be ignored by people. These are fixed agreements that the Creator made with humanity, long before the existence of the Jewish nation and it is totally worth the effort to keep these agreements and, by doing so, honouring and respecting the Creator of heaven and earth
