The Apostles Among The Anthropophagi

By Salomon Reinach

Book Overview

The Apostles Among The Anthropophagi is a book written by Salomon Reinach. It is a historical and anthropological study of the early Christian Church and its interactions with the ancient peoples known as Anthropophagi. The Anthropophagi were a group of people who were believed to have practiced cannibalism, and were often portrayed as savage and uncivilized in ancient literature. Reinach examines the accounts of early Christian missionaries who encountered the Anthropophagi, and explores how they were able to convert them to Christianity despite their cultural differences. The book also delves into the broader historical context of the time, including the spread of Christianity throughout the Roman Empire and the influence of Greek and Roman culture on early Christianity. Overall, The Apostles Among The Anthropophagi offers a fascinating look at the early days of Christianity and its interactions with other cultures.THIS 26 PAGE ARTICLE WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE BOOK: Cults, Myths and Religions, by Salomon Reinach.
