The message of sin and grace defines the essence of Christianity. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the primary teaching of the Christian faith. Without the Good News that God sent His Son into our world to bear our sins so that we might be forgiven, there is no Christianity. The Apostle Paul defines the Gospel in Romans 1:16 as the "power of God for salvation.""Salvation" does not only include deliverance from eternal death but from sin and the power of the devil today. It is no wonder that in the ministry of the late Billy Graham there was never a hint of moral failure, marital discord or financial controversy. He focused on the Gospel and preached Christ-crucified. Before that Gospel can be preached, the unpopular and oft ridiculed message of human sin and the wrath and judgment of God must be proclaimed. There can be no grace without sin, no cross without crisis.
