Three years have passed since Chad Gamin escaped the massacre in Canada. Dealing with the aftermath, Chad thought he was safe in Longview, not realizing that the danger was so near. Over the last... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is the second of Romag's Sasquatch Encounters Series, and it is another thriller worthy of its predecessor The Unleashing. It picks up three years after the events in the previous book with our hero Chad Gamin, who is contacted by a fellow named Andrew to track down and capture a Sasquatch at the Ape Caves near Mount Saint Helens. Andrew believed the slaughter in Canada which Chad barely escaped was merely a fluke event, and operates under that premise, but as the adventure begins, he finds out how horribly wrong he truly is. These Sasquatches are cold-blooded killers in this story and most assuredly commit a good deal of slaughter, even on characters the readers think will survive the story. The events take place deep in the Ape Caves, where Chad and Andrew's daughter Sherrie and Andrew and two workers come across the killer Sasquatches and begin a harrowing horrifying adventure which leaves the reader glued to each page. There are narrow escapes, thrilling chases, truly chilling moments and even a bit of romance in between the thrills. There is also a short preview of the next book which details that a character from Unleashing (Spoiler Alert ahead) survived that slaughter and was abducted by the Sasquatch creatures. I do recommend this second in the series Romag is writing, even though again it is not exactly an accurate representation of the true nature of the Forest Giants.

Clint Romag's Ape Cave Horror was adventerous and imaginative. I loved the scenery and use of actual locations within the Mt. St. Helens area. I knew the book was a lot of fun to read, but after seeing "Fred's" review of this book I was a little confused and a little disappointed. Was the point of this book to document Sasquatch research and to depict the animal in a realistic light? No. I believe the author captured the art of storytelling. Whether or not you believe in the existence of bigfoot, everyone must have some idea what the animal would look like, sound like; how it survives, what it feeds on, what happens to its body when it dies. Clint shared not a system of his beliefs, but a story to put you on the edge of your seat. The sasquatch were as ferocious as ever, but more complex and interesting this time around. I appreciated the pace of the book, the original ideas of how the animal survived for so long, and the addition of Meredith's Journal, where we got to see a little more into bigfoot's world through Clint's eyes. I don't think someone who obviously put a lot of passion into his characters and story deserves to be shot down by the likes of "Fred" and his so called investigation. The Ape Cave Horror was a great read that left you wanting to let Clint Romag paint more pictures of horror that Sasquatch would bring if you dare go into the woods of the Western United States. Thanks for the scare Clint and put a cork in it Fred!
A High-Intensity Big Foot Tale: Pure Mayham

Clint Romag has taken horror back to its roots with the latest bigfoot (sasquatch) tale, "The Ape Caves". Horror used to move swiftly like the creatures in this tale, efficient writing, plots that did not lose momentum nor waste words on excess description or scenes that add nothing to the plot. All of Clint's works are highly adaptable to the screen, which is due to the robust descriptions and setting/mood he conveys. This sequel is better than the first and very clever in the use of the ape caves to provide the mood and ambiance. His writing style is crystal clear, in a way that the great horror writer Richard Matheson's wrote. The illustrations are fun, and overall I think the book would be enjoyed by both adults and young teens.
One of the best sequels yet!

Clint does it again, pulling the reader in and not letting go. I loved this sequel. It was another action packed, supspenseful story that kept you glued to the book. I will never go on a Bigfoot hunt especially at the Ape Caves, it gives me shivers just thinking about that place. It was a nice surprise that I truely enjoyed to read the continued story of Meridith who was never found at the end of the first book. I wondered what happened to her. Make sure when you are reading, you aren't in the dark or the woods. Excellent book!!!
A Flair for Fear

I normally go by the adage, the sequel to a book is never as good as the original. However, this belief was ripped to shreds when I read "The Ape Cave Horror: The Sasquatch Encounters Two." With its fast pace storyline and multi-layered characters, Clint Romag once again creates a dark, enigmatic world full of terrifying danger and this book, unbelievably, is even better than its predecessor! The story picks up three years later with Chad Gamin still struggling to adapt after the Sasquatch massacre killed his father and friends. Though Chad is trying to live a normal life, he is still haunted by these vicious creatures, the devastation they leave behind and the people who are enamored with their existence. I love the themes of reconciling your past and taking charge of your future. Clint Romag expertly weaves love, loss and redemption on one thrilling hike through a monster-infested forest. I can't wait for the next booking this series!!!
