Annie Tyler, 12 years old, thought her life was terribly bad, because her life was filled with her abusive alcoholic and drug-using parents and an abusive older brother. When her Dad left the family, she prayed to the Lord and indicated that she'd heard God was real. She asked God that, if He truly was real, would He help her and the family and turn it around. After Cary Nolan's husband died, she moved closer to her children and grandchildren to start life over. As a Christian, and a missionary, she had been greatly blessed. When she heard the abuse next door her heart exploded, because she remembered the abuse in her own childhood. She suddenly was overwhelmed with a desire to meet and help Annie.
