Welcome to the Bayou, known as Krystal Red.
The place where the dead is feared and celebrated with festivals throughout the year, superstitions are holier than gospel, and ghost and creature stories haunt the dreams of its residents. There are many stories in the Bayou.
This is the continuing tale of the family with no last name.

Cry, the young matriarch of the family serves as sister and parent to her two siblings Tears and Edge. The family with no last name is yet another tale of the Bayou, said to be a family of witches, due to the rumors surrounding their grandmother and how she came to be in the Bayou. The three are far from being considered a normal family. Edge receives a devilish attraction from the opposite sex, Tears has a light sensitivity that allows her to see the dead and Cry herself has an otherworldly sense of smell.
Despite it all, Cry goes through each day intending to create a better life for her family, often sacrificing her own needs for theirs. It isn't until one faithful night working her job at the Best In Bayou Bar And Grill, that her needs become front and center.
When Cry smells the scent of the movie star, Rachel De Almas, something deep within her is awakened. Not only that, but it has made the spirits restless and drawn the attention of something evil and hungry in the night. The rumors about her family might not be true, but there is something very different about Cry. The truth not only brings a darkness to the Bayou that is on a bloody hunt, but it changes the lives of the family with no last name, forever.
The Animal Cry is the first story in the Series Of Cry, documenting the beginning of Cry's story. It is a romantic and chilling trip through the Bayou of Krystal Red.
