In the 1850's, three Andriot families emigrated from France and settled in Brown County, Ohio. Brothers Maurice and Pierre and their cousin Anselm, all born in Bussieres le Belmont, Haute-Marne, Champagne-Ardenne, France, were charrons (wagon makers) in France, a craft that Maurice and Pierre continued in Ohio, while Anselm became a farmer. The Andriots contains information on their French ancestors and focuses mainly on Maurice's descendants.
