Book Overview
"In the spirit of C.S. Lewis, the fantasy is never about the fantastical; it's about deeply human and moral concerns: identity, voice, virtue, family, and conflict. A joyous, satisfying, life-affirming read "
- Dr. William R. Muth, Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy Hands sweating. Heart racing. Only a three-headed dragon stands in his way. Elias is a boy on the verge of adulthood, carrying a burden far larger than his small Hungarian village. Faced with an impossible choice, he is thrust on a perilous quest into a supernatural realm-a world where ancient powers, dark forces, and mystical beings test him at every turn. Guided by his grandmother's wisdom, Elias must seek out Zoltan, a mysterious sorcerer who holds the key to the omens shadowing his path. But to reach him, Elias must conquer a shape-shifting serpent that plagues his every move and master the power of a mysterious four-circle amulet his grandmother entrusted to him. Is this dangerous journey the path to his heart? The key to his destiny? Or the ultimate test of truth? Filled with sword and sorcery, rich Hungarian folklore, and deep moral courage, The Amulet: Journey to Sirok begins an unforgettable portal fantasy series about coming of age, discovering your true voice, and finding out who you are meant to be.
