While it is printed, and has a soft cover, I'm not sure this is an actual book produced by the Ball corporation or any legitimate publisher/author.It doesn't have the usual page in the beginning which would list the publisher/edition number/ copyright etc. It's also very thin, containing only 12 recipes and some general canning information.
What really threw me off, is the recipe for apple pie filling, which calls for cornstarch. Regular cornstarch is typically NOT RECOMMENDED for canning, as it doesn't do well with being heated twice.
This "book" seems more like a collection of a few recipes and limited canning information compiled by someone and sold under the guide of being the Ball canning book which is a staple for many home chefs. Do not waste your time or money on this item.
