The Alien Gambit: A Chess Book

Popularized by Candidate Master Volen Dyulgerov (Witty_Alien) and respected for use in blitz and bullet games by strong players, including Hikaru Nakamura, Levy Rozman, and Igor Smirnov, to name a few, the Alien Gambit is played by White against the Caro-Kann, typically under fast time control when Black has trouble finding an adequate defense. White sacrifices a Knight at f7 and Black, though up material, must struggle to survive. The book includes over 50 games (a few are partial games). Most games include one or more three-inch diagrams. The book includes a section on how Black should respond to the aggressive gambit, where one small slip can prove fatal. It also includes brief discussion and a few games on similar openings such as: the Jeremy Kane's "Caro-Kane," the Locock Gambit, and the Cochrane Gambit. As a bonus, the author has included rules for two of his many chess variants: Roswell Chess and Dimension X.
