After exposing a prominent theatre director for sexual misconduct, Randall Owen's acting career is ruined. The television roles, the stage parts, vanished.

Blacklisted and broke, he abandons Toronto for his hometown of Ottawa, accompanied by his aging black poodle, Moliere.
