In 1999, democratic governance returned in Nigeria. A year later, a certain group that was dissatisfied with the path the executive was treading decided they wanted a change. To achieve this objective, a committee was set up to carry out the task; the committee set up a squad led by Abdulrahman Gambo under the guardianship of Gen. Isa, a retired Army general. But they needed the services of another former major in the Army, Mazi Obierika. The group took advantage of the religious sentiment in the country and pushed the masses to the brink of anarchy. Ifeoma found she was separated from her husband and children; Umar, a medical doctor, was put in the dilemma of survival with his friends. After he lost one of his children in the first debacle, Mazi Obierika had to trail the executors to stop the wind of terror he had helped to set in motion, but it was only the beginning.
